Burnpur Cement unveils Rs.500-cr expansion

In order to add to its cement manufacturing capacity, Burnpur Cement in a recent move has decided to invest worth Rs. 500-cr to expand its manufacturing capacity to 3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) in the near future, vice chairman and managing director, Ashok Gutgutia said, adding that as of now its installed capacity stands at 0.6 mtpa in its two cement plants- one in Asansol in West Bengal and the other in Patratu district in Jharkhand, commanding 0.3 mtpa installed capacity each. The company also aims to increase its sales revenue to Rs. 250-cr in the next year from Rs. 100-cr in the last fiscal. The cement producer plans to build a 2 mtpa Greenfield plant in West Bengal for which it is currently in the process of acquiring 100 acres of land, he added.
