Indian Railways Approves Rs 153 Crore 4-Lane Road Over Bridge on Ahmedabad-Geratpur Section

Railinfra
Indian Railways has approved the construction of a four-lane Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Level Crossing No. 305 on the Geratpur-Ahmedabad section of Western Railway in Gujarat at an estimated cost of Rs 153 crore.

The project has been sanctioned under Western Railway's umbrella programme for road overbridges, road underbridges, foot overbridges, drainage improvement and bridge reconstruction.

Located in a densely populated urban area, the ROB will feature a 106-metre railway bridge comprising two 53-metre composite girders, followed by a 150-metre viaduct. The project will also include a 595-metre railway approach to facilitate seamless connectivity.

Once completed, the four-lane ROB will eliminate delays at the level crossing, enabling uninterrupted traffic movement, reducing congestion, improving road safety and shortening travel time for commuters.

The project is part of Indian Railways' ongoing efforts to eliminate level crossings, enhance public safety and modernise transport infrastructure across the country.
