Mumbai Inaugurates 1.26 km Dindoshi-Film City Flyover Under Goregaon-Mulund Link Road Project

Dindoshi-Film City Flyover
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the 1.26 km, six-lane Dindoshi-Film City flyover in Goregaon East on October 22, 2026, marking a key milestone in Phase 1 of the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) project.

Located near Hotel Ratnagiri Junction, the flyover connects General Arun Kumar Vaidya Marg with Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari Road near Santosh Nagar. The new link is expected to improve east-west connectivity between Goregaon and Mumbai's eastern suburbs.

Speaking at the virtual inauguration, Fadnavis said recently completed infrastructure projects would strengthen north-south and east-west connectivity across Mumbai. He added that the broader objective was to reduce travel time across the city to 50-60 minutes, improve traffic flow and enhance residents' ease of living.

The flyover is part of the wider GMLR project, which aims to establish a more direct road connection between Goregaon and Mulund through planned tunnels and road links. Once completed, the corridor is expected to improve access between residential neighbourhoods and commercial centres across Mumbai's western and eastern suburban belts.

Improved connectivity could also influence residential preferences by giving homebuyers greater flexibility in choosing locations based on housing costs, workplace access and social infrastructure.

Arshad Lashkaria, CEO and managing director of Lashkaria Group, said connectivity plays an important role in homebuying decisions in Mumbai. He noted that better east-west links could strengthen the appeal of established residential areas such as Andheri, Jogeshwari and Goregaon while improving access to employment centres in Mulund, Bhandup and Vikhroli.

The eastern suburban belt has its own residential and commercial ecosystem, including business districts, industrial areas and emerging office destinations. Better road links could allow residents to access a wider range of employment opportunities and enable businesses to draw talent from a larger suburban catchment.

The progress of the GMLR project highlights the role of transport infrastructure in improving connectivity between Mumbai's suburban corridors. As additional components are completed, the improved road network could influence commuting patterns and residential demand, although affordability, housing supply and access to local amenities will remain important factors in homebuying decisions.
