Delhi To Begin Construction of Second Savitri Cinema Flyover Soon

Flyover-Project
The Public Works Department will soon begin construction of a second flyover at Savitri Cinema, with PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh saying that the foundation stone is expected to be laid within a month. Work on the project is likely to commence on the ground shortly after.

The project, approved in December last year, involves constructing a new flyover parallel to the existing structure to ease traffic congestion and enable smoother movement between Greater Kailash and Nehru Place. The need for the second flyover was identified in 2016, with initial plans cleared by Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure (Planning & Engineering) Centre.

In addition, the plan includes integrating the Modi Mill flyover with Kalkaji Temple road through the construction of a new three-lane carriageway. The stretch from Modi Mill to Kalkaji Temple will also see a three-lane carriageway developed at a cost of Rs 312.94 crore, aimed at improving connectivity and reducing congestion in the area.
