BMC braces for 305 roads' upgrade

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is all set to take-up the reconstruction of 305 roads within its civic limits. Out of the total number of the targeted roads, the BMC will repair 83 roads in the island city, 88 roads in eastern suburbs, and 134 roads in western suburbs. A decision to this effect was taken after BMC Commissioner, Ajoy Mehta, recently held a review meeting with Additional Commissioners and Deputy Municipal Commissioners and directed them to expedite the work. The augmentation of re-laying of roads as well as repairing of others, is a part of the ambitious plan of the local body to repair roads across every nook and corner of the city, said an official, claiming that the administration is trying hard to execute large scale road network across the metropolitan city.
