Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the Siuri Road Over Bridge and dedicated the Kumarpur Road Over Bridge to the nation. He said the projects will strengthen rail infrastructure, enhance safety and improve regional connectivity in West Bengal and neighbouring areas. The minister highlighted that a record budget of Rs 14,205 crore has been allocated for railways in West Bengal this year, more than three times the average allocation during 2009-2014, and that projects worth about Rs 92,000 crore are under implementation in the state.

The Siuri Road Over Bridge, built in place of Level Crossing No 22B/T near Siuri Railway Station, has been completed at a cost of Rs 42 crore. The bridge will eliminate long waiting times at the crossing, improve safety and ensure smoother travel for residents of Siuri and nearby areas. It will also reduce congestion around the station and enable uninterrupted movement of emergency vehicles.

The Kumarpur Road Over Bridge, constructed at a cost of Rs 55 crore in lieu of Level Crossing No 1Spl/E between Barachak and Hirapur Yard Line, is located on the key GT Road corridor. The bridge will enhance connectivity between Asansol, Paschim Bardhaman district and Jharkhand, support faster movement of trade and traffic and improve daily commuting by reducing congestion on this busy route.
