Apollo to build Rs. 1,400-cr new facilities

Healthcare group, Apollo Hospitals, has planned to invest Rs. 1,400-cr on building new hospitals across the country over the next couple of years. The expansion plan also included to introduce new and modern Proton therapy at its Chennai facility for the treatment of cancer patients in near future, said Chairman, Prathap C Reddy, adding that the company is looking at having own hospital at Guwahati (North-East) and has already acquired land in Jaipur for the setting up of a hospital in future. Work has already begun on the setting up of the Proton therapy at the groups Chennai facility and it is becoming operational over next one-and-half years. In addition, it is also looking at adding oncology facility at the groups' already existing hospitals at places like Vizag and Bhubaneshwar, he claimed.
