AP unveils Rs.493 cr flyover projects

The Andhra Pradesh state government is all set to float tenders for preparing detailed project reports (DPR) for seven flyovers in and around the capital city and they also included the extension of the Vadapalani flyover, covering a distance of 1.7 km, at an estimated investment of Rs.380 crore. These apart, the CM also laid foundation for the construction of a flyover at NAD Kotha Road to be completed at an investment of Rs.113 crore. For other projects, the consulting firms evinced keen interest in the second call for tenders and the bids are currently under process, explained sources in the state highways department. The projects included the construction of a grade separator at Madipakkam on Tambaram-Velachery Road; a four-lane grade separator at the junction of NH 205 (Chennai -Tiruthani-Tirupathi Road) and Vanagaram-Ambattur Road; a grade separator at the intersection of Pallavaram-Kundrathur Road and CKS Road at Kundrathur; a grade separator at Korattur on NH 205; the extension of the existing Vadapalani grade separator up to Ashok Pillar junction on Jawaharlal Nehru Road; a grade separator on Maraimalai Adigal Bridge–Irumbuliyur Road at the intersection of Madambakkam Road; and a multi-level grade separator on Mount Poonamallee Avadi Road from MIOT Hospital to Mugalivakkam via Ramapuram, said official sources.
