The AP government has approved the lowest financial offer of ₹337.67 lakh quoted by Urban Mass Transit Company Limited (UMTC) for preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a project, which is aimed at extending the modern tram and metrolite transport system in Visakhapatnam for a length of 60.20 km, and preparation of an alternative analysis report, among other tasks. The government has authorized the Amaravati Metro Rail Corporation Limited to issue the letter of acceptance to UMTC.
