Andhra Pradesh CM Lays Foundation for Rs 126 Cr Water Project to Boost Irrigation & Drinking Supply in Tirupati

Irrigation-Project
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has laid the foundation stone for a Rs 126 crore water project in the Chandragiri constituency to improve irrigation and drinking water supply in Tirupati district.

The project will draw water from the Handri–Neeva branch canal and channel it to the Kalyani dam through a pipeline system. Water will be lifted by 10 metres at the 53 km point of the canal to fill local tanks, supporting farmers and ensuring reliable drinking water, especially for the Tirumala hill shrine.

The scheme is expected to irrigate over 1,100 acres of land, with tanks including Moolapalle and Kondreddy Kandriga set to receive millions of cubic feet of water for agricultural use.
