AM/NS India to Invest ₹1.4 Lakh Cr in Steel Plant in Andhra Pradesh

AM/NS India, a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, plans to build a 17.8 million tonnes integrated steel project in Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapalli district, marking one of the largest recent greenfield investments. The project, totaling ₹1.4 lakh crore, will be executed in two phases.

The first phase involves a 7.3 MMTPA blast furnace steel plant with an initial ₹80,000 crore investment, for which the company has requested 2,600 acres. The second phase will expand capacity by 10.5 MMTPA with an additional ₹60,000 crore investment, needing 2,000 more acres. Around 1,800 acres are immediately available near Nakkapalli bulk drug park for the initial phase.
