The Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (Auda) is fast-tracking plans to widen SP Ring Road to six lanes due to anticipated heavy traffic in the next five to seven years. Translink has been tasked with preparing a detailed project report (DPR) for the estimated Rs 800 crore project. The DPR will involve designing the six-lane road, identifying new flyovers at junctions through traffic surveys, and renovating or extending the Bhat and Kamod river bridges on the western and eastern sides of the ring road.
