Ahmedabad Bullet Train Station Nears Completion with Advanced Construction and Iconic Design

Ahmedabad-Bullet-station
The construction of the Ahmedabad Bullet Train station is progressing rapidly and has reached an advanced stage. Inspired by the city’s cultural heritage, the station’s roof and façade feature kite motifs and designs based on the intricate lattice work of Syed Siddique’s Jaali.

Spread across 38,000 sq m, the station is being built above platforms 10, 11, and 12 of the existing Ahmedabad Western Railway station, ensuring seamless integration through foot overbridges. It will also be directly connected to the Kalupur Metro station of GMRCL via lifts, escalators, and staircases.

The station will feature two platforms and stand 33.7 metres above ground level. Passenger amenities include waiting lounges, restrooms, retail outlets, nurseries, and designated parking and drop-off zones for cars, buses, and autos.

To improve multimodal connectivity, an integrated passenger transit building is being constructed on the east side, linking the bullet train station with the existing railway station and the underground Kalupur Metro station. The location also offers easy access to Ahmedabad Airport (10 km) and Geeta Mandir Bus Stand (3.5 km).

Structural work up to the track level has been completed. Interior works, MEP installations, façade mock-up, and RC track bed laying are currently in progress.
