In an ambitious initiative to improve road transport facilities in the state, especially providing connectivity between northern and southern suburban areas of Bihar, the Union government and Asian Development Bank (ADB) has recently signed a mega $500 million loan deal for building a bridge. The bridge in question, which will also serve as a vital link between Patna and the surrounding areas, has been touted as the country's longest bridge commanding a length of 9.8-km river bridge across holy River Ganga in Bihar, said an official spokesperson.
