AAI unveils multiple airports' expansion

In its newest scheme to upgrade the existing airports matching global standards, the civil aviation ministry has recently decided to upgrade the Belgaum, Hubli, and Mysore airports. In this connection, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has already secured approvals for 364 acres of land in Belgaum, 588 acres in Hubli and 142 acres land in Mysore, from the concerned state governments. The nodal agency has already commenced the work on extension & strengthening of runway, taxiways & isolation bay and construction of new terminal building, ATC tower-cum-Fire Station, sub-station, new apron, boundary wall and associated work at Belgaum Airport including new buildings at Hubli Airport, said the concerned minister in a statement.
