AAI offers 759-acre land for airport infrastructure

AAI has decided to offer 759 acres of land across eight major airports to private players to set up warehouses, commercial spaces, hotels and restaurants. AAI has identified land parcels at airports for development in cities like 145 acres in Kolkata, 45 acres in Amritsar, Bhubaneswar 35 acres, Jaipur airport, 60 acres, Varanasi airport, 217 acres, Lucknow airport 80 acres and 117 acres in Raipur airport and Tirpuati airports, said official sources. All the land parcels are located at airport sites and the non-traffic revenue will be utilized for development of airport infrastructure. The land is likely to be leased to any company or organization for a period of 25-30 years for a fixed annual rental income. AAI is in the process of monetization of its city side land as per the AAI Act for planning, development, construction and maintenance of institutions, training centres, workshops, commercial centers, warehouses, cargo complexes etc.
