The Airports Authority of India

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Madhya Pradesh government have signed an MoU for the development of Shivpuri airport. The agreement focuses on transforming Shivpuri into a key regional hub under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), with modern communication, navigation, surveillance (CNS), and air traffic management (ATM) services.

Initially, the airport will be upgraded to accommodate 19-seater aircraft, with plans to expand its capacity to handle ATR-72 aircraft in the near future. The state government will transfer 292 acres of land to AAI for the airport’s expansion. Shivpuri Airport is included under the UDAN 5.2 initiative.
