NPG Reviews Key Infrastructure Projects under PM GatiShakti

The 81st meeting of the Network Planning Group (NPG), chaired by Shri Rajeev Singh Thakur, Additional Secretary, DPIIT, reviewed five major infrastructure projects from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA). The projects were assessed for alignment with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan's integrated planning principles.
Vrindavan Bypass, Uttar Pradesh
A greenfield project for a 16.75 km bypass connecting NH-44 and the Yamuna Expressway, aiming to cut travel time from 1.5 hours to just 15 minutes. This will ease congestion, boost tourism, and support industrial growth in the region.
Sandalpur-Badi Road, Madhya Pradesh
A 142.26 km highway project between Sandalpur and Badi, part of NH-146B, aims to improve connectivity between Indore and Jabalpur. It will ease traffic in Bhopal and promote economic and tourist activities.
Junnar-Taleghar Road, Maharashtra
A 55.94 km road upgrade between Junnar and Taleghar to enhance connectivity to Bhimashankar, Junnar, Bankarphata, and NH-61. This project is expected to boost tourism and cargo movement in the region.
Bhimashankar-Rajgurunagar Road, Maharashtra
A 60.45 km road improvement project to enhance connectivity, reduce travel time, and stimulate economic activities in Pune, benefiting both commuters and businesses.
New Terminal at Srinagar Airport, Jammu & Kashmir
A brownfield project to construct a new integrated terminal building at Srinagar Airport, expanding its capacity to handle 10 million passengers annually. The project includes apron extensions, parking bays, and residential quarters.
These projects are expected to enhance multimodal infrastructure, last-mile connectivity, and socio-economic development across the regions.
