A 500-acre plot gets construction right
A land parcel stretching across 500 acre and belonging to the Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Group in Goregaon (W), with a part of it controlled by the Sahara Group, has now been marked as a natural area (NA) in the new draft development plan for the city and the latest move will give construction right to the land owner on the market stretch, sources said that the move has injected a major booster to the construction activities in and around the Goregaon area. In this connection, a special planning committee appointed by the state government to review the new development plan has given the go ahead to the proposal. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) recently submitted the draft plan showing the new nomenclature to the state government for approval. Till recently, the entire land was marked as a no-development zone (NDZ), which allows restricted construction on the entire 500 acre stretch.
