210m Bridge Completed Over NH-48 in Gujarat for Bullet Train Project

A 210-meter-long pre-stressed concrete (PSC) bridge near Vaghaldhara village in Valsad district, Gujarat, is now completed. The bridge crosses National Highway-48 (Delhi-Chennai) and features 72 precast segments with a span configuration of 40m + 65m + 65m + 40m. Constructed using the Balanced Cantilever Method, it is designed for larger spans.
This newly completed bridge lies between the Vapi and Bilimora Bullet Train stations. It joins two other PSC bridges in Navsari district, measuring 260 meters and 210 meters, which cross NH-48 between the Surat and Bilimora Bullet Train stations.
Given NH-48’s high traffic volume, construction was planned meticulously to ensure safety and minimize public inconvenience. Additional lanes were created on both sides of the highway, preventing vehicles from passing beneath suspended loads during construction. A phased traffic diversion plan, closely monitored throughout the process, maintained uninterrupted traffic flow.
