Terex MPS Launches Wheel Mounted Crushing & Screening Plant in India
What are your projections for crushing and screening equipment market in India on the back of greater infrastructure development in the country and what segment of infrastructure you would be looking for higher growth in your business?
The year 2011 is going to be a good year for the Infrastructure Equipment market in general. The GDP growth trend has been encouraging and there is a fresh impetus for Infrastructure Projects in India. We expect that growth for the Crushing & Screening market would be driven by the growth in the Roads sector. We also expect some new opportunities in the power sector.
Terex MPS has recently started its operations in India–please tell us in brief about your company.
Terex Minerals Processing System provides applications expertise, process equipment, parts, service and modular systems for fixed-site crushing and screening of construction aggregates, industrial minerals, ore and demolition debris. Terex MPS utilizes global Terex engineering and manufacturing resources and supports the market place with a dedicated team of applications, product development, customer service, and distribution management professionals worldwide.
Our Customers include Blasted Rock Quarries, Sand and Gravel Pits, Industrial Minerals Producers, Demolition Recyclers and Mines. We meet the crushing and screening equipment and support needs of fixed site customers with our Static, Wheeled and Modular solutions.
What is the product range being offered by Terex MPS.
Terex has a well-known series of products to create an industry leading crushing and screening product line—Terex MPS. The product range includes products from the legacy brands of Terex Cedarapids, Terex Canica, Terex Jaques and Terex Simplicity. In addition to the above, we have added new products like the Wheel Mounted Crushing Plants. These products are now combined in one strong offering: Terex Minerals Processing Systems.
How does the products and services offered by your company provide a better competitive edge in terms of quality and cost effectiveness to the users?
At Terex Minerals Processing Systems, we are committed to provide the best equipment and After Market Service to our customers and dealers. We take into consideration the needs of the local customers and invest in Engineering to provide them with a Global Product with local features. Keeping in view the requirement of the customers in India, we have launched the Wheel Mounted Crushing & Screening Plants.
A word about recently launched Terex Wheel Mounted Crushing Systems and its technical attributes.
The Terex Wheel Mounted Crushing System has been designed with a view to cater to the needs of the customers in Construction Aggregate and Mining Industry. The Plant features quick set up time and amongst the best in the industry. Another feature which makes the Terex Wheel Mounted Plant customer-friendly is, the Cone Crusher that comes with Chassis mounted feed hopper, thus ensuring quick set up time and lesser plant area required.
The Wheeled Jaw Plant features the well Proven Terex JW 42 Jaw Crusher with one of the largest feed size intake capability in its class. The Wheeled Cone Plant features the highly popular Terex TC 1000 Cone. Both these crushers have a large installed base in India in various Static and Mobile Applications.
What is Company's focus on R&D supporting its product development activities?

In addition to the global centers of excellence in various countries, we have a Global R&D Centre in Bangalore, India which continuously works towards meeting the changing demands of the market place.
Competition ahead would hot up—how does the company propose to equip itself to take on the emerging competition? What are the sales, after sales and product supports being planned to meet the oncoming market challenges?
Terex MPS is totally committed towards the Indian market. We have a state-of-the-art Manufacturing facility at Hosur near Bangalore. The Wheel Crushing & Screening Plant would be manufactured at this facility. We have a full team for Aftermarket support working in India including Engineering Support. We focus on manpower training and quality after sales support and are also expanding in terms of our manpower strength in India office to provide more focus to customers' overall satisfaction.
Tell us in brief about your training system for dealers and customers.
Lack of skilled plant operators and high rates of attrition is one of the biggest challenges faced by the industry. We are continuously working with our dealer and end users to train new manpower and conduct frequent site and classroom training sessions for the customer & dealer staff to enhance their skills and knowledge. We also have regular Service and Technical Training Sessions across our various Global factories.
Tell us about your new product development Initiatives
We continue to invest in new product development for contractor, quarry, sand & gravel, and mining material process equipment to provide highest efficiency, uptime and lowest cost per ton. We have recently launched the upgraded MVP 450 X Cone Crusher with newly designed head casting. The machine has a rugged high endurance cast construction and pinned cylinder ends for fast cone separation. The launch of the Complete Wheel Mobile Crushing and Screening Plant from our Hosur factory would be another important product to strengthen our existing range.
