Natural resources like wood, water and energy are getting scarce day-by-day and to supplement the needs we felt the dire need to develop and promote environment-friendly alternatives for the same. Objective of "Sarvadhaar" toilets is to achieve open defecation free India by 2019 as desired by our beloved P M Shri Narendra Modi as well as eradication of manual scavenging, modern and scientific municipal solid waste management to affect behavioural change regarding healthy sanitation practices, save natural resources, provide solution to global warming, and prevent ground water/river pollution. Sarvadhaar toilets can generate revenues by using public toilets as hoarding / advertising space particularly in metros and mini metros in addition to clean hygienic facilities to society.

What are the features and advantages of such type of eco toilet?
Sarvadhaar toilets have special features and advantages such as modular design, no construction hazards, fire retardant, water proof and termite proof, easy and faster to install, environment-friendly, weather resistant, light weight – easy to transport in CKD condition, acid proof and alkali proof, earthquake and high wind velocity resistant, no maintenance, long lasting etc.

How would you correlate sustainability with your products?
Sustainable sanitation aims at saving scarce water resources, utilising rich nutrient containing human excreta as organic fertiliser after decomposing, preventing manual scavenging, improving public health by preventing open defecation by clean and hygienic toilet structure, preventing ground water pollution as well as providing self-employment by treating sanitation as business.

How do you see the market of Prefab Modular Eco-toilet in general and your product in particular in coming years?
Considering the urgent requirement of more than 19 cr. toilets in India by 2019 to meet the 'Swachch Bharat Abhiyan' target which has potential of business worth $15–20 billion, we feel that there is a vast scope for such bio toilets. Moreover, water and organic fertiliser demands are increasing day-by-day, which will make 'Sarvadhaar' toilets more acceptable and sought after in near future.
