Orscheln Launching Electronic Throttle Controls and Push2Seal Type Dipsticks at Excon
Could you please brief us about your parent company 'Orscheln Technologies L.L.C', its global reach, manufacturing facilities, and products range particularly serving the needs of on- and off-highway and construction sectors?
Orscheln Technologies L.L.C., AKA, "Orscheln India", (OI) was established in Chennai in the year 2010. This is a division of Orscheln Products; a USA based privately held Family Corporation. With all divisions, Orscheln has over 2,000 employees. The India site has about 20 staff.
OI manufactures products for the on- and off-highway market. It makes engine oil dipstick assemblies, shifters for automatic transmissions, electronic throttle controls, and push pull cables. OI supports the Orscheln Europe sister division by producing dipsticks for truck and bus customers.
Please provide us an overview of your India's operation since inception briefly touching upon its important milestones which enable the company to reach on the current stature.
OI started with the closing of a short lived joint venture with the Remsons Company in 2010 and relocated from Daman to Chennai. In 2011, OI won a significant contract to build dipsticks for Volvo and Renault in Europe. In India, domestic OEMs have been added du to the culture to offer good service and custom control solutions.
What are the products and services being offered by Orscheln to OEMs in the country?
OI produces mechanical and electromechanical controls such as dipsticks, shift levers, push pull cables, and electronic throttle controls.

How is Orscheln positioned to address the client's needs mainly timely availability of its offerings and competitive pricing which are precursor towards brand recall?
OI does a lot of prototype work for new equipment. Fast service and custom solutions are key to success. It relies on the USA HQ site when needful to satisfy the customer expectations. But a strong emphasis is placed on local/regional decision making.
How do you see the potential of the Indian market in context of your business in the next two-three years?
Orscheln sees a bright future in India as OEMs change technology from mechanical controls to electronic controls. For many OEMs, there will remain a combination of mechanical and electronic solutions. OI is positioned to provide both.
Further, Orscheln sees OI as its "workshop" for Asia in order to offer competitive solutions to customers throughout Asia and Europe.
In addition, as many Indian OEMs take leadership into Africa, OI hopes to benefit by this new market growth.
What are Orscheln plans of participation at Excon 2015 mega event? Are you planning to launch any new product?
OI has added capabilities since the last EXCON. It will show its new electronic throttle controls and Push2Seal type dipsticks. The show is important and strategic, and on display will be a wall of many mechanical and electronic controls for attendees to see and handle. Key India staff will be on hand as well as the USA based Global Business manager.
