Price hike will impact demand but for the short-term only as customers will begin to rework their project costings.
There will certainly be a dip in demand since the BS IV equipment will be more expensive and even the maintenance cost will be a bit higher. Customers will still be working on razor thin margins without any escalation in their rates. However, this dip in demand will get corrected shortly as projects have to move on and customers will begin to rework their costs.
The price escalation will take time to be accepted by the customers. Though the gap in prices will be narrow between various categories like an excavator and a backhoe loader, but in view of their specific application requirements and capabilities, both the categories will retain their space and there will be marginal spill overs.
We are working out promotional programmes for our BS IV machines.
We are creating awareness of the new BS IV machines first in our employees through discussions and then with our customers.
