How do you see the market of Asphalt batch mix plant in India and competition there from?
Most of the developed countries are using only the batch-mix plants and are completely opposed to drum mix ones. We hope that it is also going to be the future of India as the country started growing and becoming more developed by the day. Furthermore, with the upcoming government's regulation, it will become obligatory for big projects to use asphalt batch mix plants instead of drum mix ones. Hence, we hope this market will keep growing.

We feel that developing our business in this area is vital for Kaushik Engineering works' continued growth in the future. Considering this, we're currently focusing on asphalt batch mix plants of higher capacity which are a better option than prevalent drum mix plants due to various environmental considerations. Moreover, it can generate revenue five times more than the drum mix plant.

So far as competition is concerned, we noticed that now more overseas companies are entering into the Indian market that means stiff competition in the near future.

It is almost a year now of a JV between Kaushik and Cesan to Manufacture Asphalt Batch Mix Plant in India. How has the response been of Asphalt batch mix plants of global standard from the Indian market?
In order to serve a wide array of industries with low cost, reliable, and global quality products, we have collaborated with Cesan to manufacture Asphalt batch mix plants in India, and it is really overwhelming to see the plant is getting quite good response from the market. We will have Seven Asphalt Batch Mix Plants running by end of 2015.

The demand of Asphalt batch mix plants is growing faster in the country and we have now increased our capacity and capability to manufacture the plants in various designs and capacities ranging from 90 to 300 tph depending upon the customer needs. We're looking forward to strengthen our presence in India and abroad with more world-class product range.

What are the technical attributes of Kaushik-Cesan Asphalt batch mix plants?
Kaushik-Cesan Asphalt batch mix plants are designed for maximum efficiency and minimum operation cost. The plant can reduce energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and improve efficiencies by reducing fuel consumption with its completely self-designed dryer which operates in basic principle heat transfer to the aggregate. For every tonne of asphalt, minimum 1 litre of fuel can be saved.

Any sort of liquid (fuel-oil, diesel) natural gas or LPG can be used in the asphalt plants. Operating cost is low because of low energy needed, optimized fuel consumption, long life of system units and minimized maintenance needs. The operation of the plant can be controlled continuously through the computer monitor on the operator table manually, semi-automatically, and automatically. Apart from these, modular structure of the products provides easy erection and replacement in a very short time.

Furthermore, the plants are safe with respect to noise, dust, and heat. It is environment- and user-friendly. Dimensions of the units are designed as they are convenient to the global road transporting gauges. It is improved for fast dismantling and reassembling. Affordability, end product consistency, cost efficient production rates, user-friendly operations, and simplicity of erection are some of the driving factors and USPs of the plant.

How do you see your export markets?
Kaushik has been increasing its geographical presence not only in India but also in the overseas markets since the commencement of its operation. Currently, its products are exported to South Asian, African, Middle East, and European countries. The company entered into the European market by selling its plant in Poland. Around 50% of its products are sold in export market and it is aggressively promoting the sales of its products in the Latin American and Eastern European markets. We're looking to expand our horizon both inside and outside the country.


What are your plans for Excon 2015? What will be the new products at Kaushik stand this year?
South India is a very promising market for us and thus Excon is a very important exhibition. We will showcase Kaushik Cesan Asphalt Batch Mix Plant Capacity 120 TPH at Excon 2015. This includes complete Mixing Tower, Drying Drum & Electrical Control Panel system.
