JCB is Revolutionising the Material Handling Industry in India
"The current focus on the infrastructure development and vertical construction will lead to higher demand for Telehandlers, as the machines can be useful in a wide range of construction activities. Besides this, industrial applications, agricultural logistics, palletisation, and process industry are also showing great potential for this machine," says Jasmeet Singh, Head - Corporate Communications, JCB India Limited, in an interview with S.A.Faridi.
The Telehandler market is in a nascent stage at the moment however, it's now being recognized as a safe and reliable material handling-machine in the industry. Agricultural Logistics, Construction, and Process industry has shown great potential for this machine. Also, palletisation is making inroads in the industry as businesses demand better space utilization. With the most modern Industrial and Construction sites designed, keeping the usage of vertical space in mind, machines such as Telehandlers have tremendous opportunities.
As the Industry matures, there will be a need to utilise these state-of-the-art machines. Demand for these machines would rise as and when there is a progress in Industrial applications, and more critically, with the introduction of palletisation in India.
Please tell us about Load All, its applications and versatile features that make it a multi-utility machine. How many models JCB is manufacturing in India, their capacities, reach etc.?
The JCB Load Alls are revolutionising the material handling segment with their unique combination of safety, productivity, and versatility. JCB India currently offers three variants of the Telehandlers - the Made in India 530-70 and 530-110, and additionally we have a 17m high machine which is the 540-170 for high-lift and reach applications, and is imported from UK.

- The 530-70 and the 530-110 come with a rear wheel steers for better maneuverability.
- Safety and Comfort: JCB Loadall provides unmatched safety and comfort. The machine cabins are fitted with Rolling Over Protection System and Falling Over Protection System that enhances the operator safety. JCB Load Alls also have an Integral Lateral Load Moment Indicator to warn the operator in case the load exceeds the limits and a stabilizer cut-off for safe working operation.
- Superior Design: The machine comes with a legendary 'U' shaped boom and a single closing plate welds to reduce joints and stress points, and boom overlapping for structural rigidity of the boom.
- Hydraulic extension rams with no chains is suited for heavy duty bucket arduous bucket applications. These world class aggregates help the Load Alls delivery, and the inherent reliability of the equipment.
What are the steps initiated by you to optimise customer service and support?
With over 650 outlets, JCB India has the largest dealership network in the construction and earthmoving equipment industry and employs over 6,000 trained professionals. These outlets are spread across India and provide professional product support and service to our customers. Each of these outlets has trained manpower and adequate parts' stock.
Also, our dealers are supported by our four parts depots for parts supply and a centre in Pune for training of Technicians and Service Engineers.
We realize that product support is a key requirement in our industry. Machines operate in deep interiors of difficult and arduous sites. To address this challenge, apart from service vehicles we also have mobile vans that have the concept of Workshop on Wheels. These vans are fully equipped to handle most service and repair jobs on JCB machines.
