"Escorts RT cranes reach the next level in load, reach, safety, technology and reliability,"
says Mr. Rajinder Raina, GM-Marketing, Escorts Construction Equipment (ECE)
Escorts Limited is known for having pioneered Pick-n-Carry cranes (Escorts Hydra Series) in India, more than 40 years back. As Hydra cranes found acceptance in varied applications across India, it was time for moving to the next level in load, reach, safety as also contemporary technology.
In 1985, Escorts tied up with FAUN, Germany for Rough Terrain Slew Cranes. This was a Technical Collaboration Agreement under which rough terrain cranes were developed & tested in Escorts R&D. At present Escorts offers 20T, 30T & 40T range of Rough Terrain Cranes.
Slew Cranes are multipurpose cranes, designed to handle material in all three planes / along three axes. The cranes are highly stable on finished surface and also on rough terrain. Green field projects where the terrain is levelled/finished only after a particular stage, RT slew cranes provide a safe solution. Lifting areas with limited scope of accessibility find the right fit in these cranes because of the short wheel base, 3600 continuous slew, all wheel steer & crab steering. There one cab to drive and operate from with high visibility. For handling, the set up area required is small.
Escorts Rough Terrain cranes boast of imported aggregates from renowned global component manufacturers. These aggregates ensure sturdiness & reliability on heavy duty applications like Collieris, Railways, Power & cement plants. Chemical plants, Ports & refineries offer challenges of a different kind. The demand from defence establishments & ordinance factories is unique & specific.
Private sector is growing which in turn is enhancing the hiring segment where the defined pick & carry capacity of these cranes is finding added utility. Making these cranes feature rich based upon the application requirements is a work in progress for our R&D. There are some major features planned in near future which will improve the performance in a tangible manner.
