bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2024: Showcasing Advanced Technologies & Products
bauma CONEXPO INDIA is becoming bigger and better due to the increasing participation by stakeholders in the Infra Construction Sector. What can we expect in its upcoming 7th edition?
Like the bauma trade fairs held in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, bauma CONEXPO India too has emerged as important trade event for both buyers and suppliers. Once again, visitors will witness machines integrated with next-gen construction technologies and solutions showcased by companies across one million sq.ft of exhibition space, including outdoor.A series of conferences led by industry experts and veterans will give industry professionals insights on key issues and developments in the construction sector; live demos of high-tech machines in action will give a peep into futuristic construction technologies, and there will be ample opportunities for networking, buyer-seller meetings, interactions with key government decision makers, award functions, and more.

With India undergoing mega infrastructure development, supported by the Govern- ment and the OEMs, we anticipate greater participation by over 1000 Indian and International exhibitors from 100+ countries.
bauma CONEXPO India will be partnering with ICEMA (Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association, BAI (Builders Association of India), CERA (Construction Equipment Rental Association), COAOI (Cranes Owners Association of India), CFI (Construction Federation of India), etc.
What new initiatives are bauma CONEXPO INDIA 24 organizers taking to promote the upcoming event?
Along with several promotional endeavours, we have embarked on an ambitious campaign, the Bharat Nirman Mahotsav, to 76 cities across the country. This journey will mark 76 years of India’s independence and honour 2047 construction heroes who are contributing significantly towards Viksit Bharat. Our aim is to reach construction communities in the remotest parts of India.
What growth opportunities do you see for India’s construction equipment industry in the short- and long-term?
India’s construction equipment industry is on an upswing led by factors like rapid pace of infrastructure development, mining, and increasing urbanisation. This is being witnessed across the country, including tier cities. This year, the industry saw about 26% growth in equipment sales over FY23, including strong demand from export markets. This growth trajectory offers Indian OEMs an opportunity to invest in R&D of new, more innovation products, and to expand their product portfolio.

Today, India is positioned amongst the world’s top 5 equipment manufacturers. The country is seeing a growing number of international construction projects being undertaken by Indian companies, which is giving our local manufacturers of components and machines, suppliers, service providers, and skilled operators and workers opportunities to build a strong construction eco-system within India and also cater to export markets.

How can India become a strong global manufacturing hub?
The government’s push towards developing mega infra projects is enabling higher mechanisation and automation in equipment, along with sustainable construction methods. However, the industry needs to resolve certain critical issues such as its dependence on imports of some key components, and bridge the skill gap by providing training to both new and existing operators. The industry needs well trained and certified equipment operators to operate advanced machines optimally.
What new technologies will drive growth in the construction equipment market?
Mega infra construction projects such as roads, tunnels and bridges in the very challenging hilly terrains, are highly complex, and therefore require advanced machines, innovative technologies, and the expertise. Digital technologies like AI, IoT and automation are disruptive and transformative technologies and are impacting the construction industry.
Hence, bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2024 will have a new series of 30+ technical sessions, on a wide range of topics, including the Quarry Forward conference, equipment finance, telematics, automation, AI/IoT, skill development, sustainability, etc. These will be led by technical and project experts in the construction sector.
