KOBELCO Launches 10th Generation Excavator for Mining
The SK220XD/ SK220XDLC meets the needs of the most punishing mining sites as well as Earthwork – a performance that simply astounds. The new machine comes with a wide range of excellent value additions to make it a more obvious choice for the discerning customer. The theme for the new Excavator is aptly stated with the tag-line ‘Power Meets Efficiency.’
KOBELCO has developed the new model along with six key parameters which are most critical from the user’s perspective:
- Higher Fuel Economy
There is an astounding 19% improvement in fuel efficiency as well as productivity, which makes the new KOBELCO Excavator the best option. A new ECO Mode has also been added for relatively lighter workloads. An innovative Boom Regeneration system facilitates the use of the Boom’s weight to push hydraulic oil to the arm cylinder for improved efficiency and energy saving. The unique Auto-Idle-Stop (AIS) feature prevents fuel wastage. - More Reliability
The structure's material thickness has been enhanced by 15 to 50%, to give more life and strength. Reliability has been vastly improved by the design, use of heavier plates and more effective filtration systems. There is a new under-body cover to prevent damage to the components by stones/ boulders. - Better Performance
KOBELCO is well known for its best-in-class combination of power and Speed making it capable of the highest output. This is also made possible with the intelligent machine management system, which makes optimal use of Engine/ Hydraulic Power with minimal losses/ wastage. - Greater Comfort

The layout of components on the upper chassis has been reworked to improve access for inspection and maintenance. There is a new Colour Display Monitor with advanced features, which include provision to diagnose and resolve errors, and select key operating parameters like Work Mode, Pump flow, etc. - Environment-friendly
KOBELCO has always developed new machines with maximum care for the environment. The engine complies with Tier III emission norms and has the least sound level while working.
