Gmmco launches Workshop-on-Wheels (WoW) to serve customers in remote locations

Gmmco Ltd and Caterpillar India have always been pioneers in bringing high-end products and best-in-class product support to their customers. Their latest offering is the Workshop-on-Wheels (WoW), designed to serve its customers even in remote locations.

Speaking at the launch, V Chandrashekar, Managing Director & CEO, Gmmco Ltd, said, “Our priority has always been customer satisfaction over simply earning a revenue. The WoW is yet another step in our constant series of offerings to enhance customer satisfaction and delight in their experience with Gmmco and Caterpillar.”Prashant Bisen, Senior VP, Construction Industries, Gmmco Ltd, said, “We are expanding our product support offerings every year. Earlier, we had Parts-on-Wheels and now we are offering Workshop-on-Wheels. The WoW will take us closer to our customers and will serve as a gateway to reach our customers in remote locations. The vehicle is equipped to handle all the services and troubleshooting for our customers’ equipment.”

Also present at the launch were Mani Rajan, District Manager, and Mukul Dixit, Sales & Marketing Director, Caterpillar India.

The Workshop-on-Wheels vehicle has been mounted with all the tools need to carry out repairs / preventive maintenance and other services at customers’ locations. In the WoW vehicle is a workstation for holding parts and carrying out minor jobs, an in-built compressor for pneumatic tools, a diesel power generator for electric power, welding equipment, toolboxes and kits, and storage for parts and lubes. The vehicle has been designed keeping in mind safety and utility for optimum service capability.

The vehicle will carry an expert engineer and a fitter-cum-driver to customer locations. Gmmco plans to launch a fleet of WOWs across multiple geographies in the coming months.
