Caterpillar has been active in India since the 1930s, manufacturing and developing innovations, contributing towards sustainable development across the country. Its integrated product solutions comprising technologically advanced products are supported by efficient aftermarket services.

Today, Caterpillar and Cat Dealers employ more than 11,000 people in India, representing nearly every part of Caterpillar’s business. Caterpillar’s presence in India includes state-of-the art manufacturing facilities, R&D, as well as numerous global support organizations. Caterpillar employees and Cat dealers are spread across hundreds of locations in India to serve and support customers.

Mani Ranjan, District Manager – APD, Caterpillar India, said “Caterpillar is committed to sustainability by offering integrated and differentiated solutions and leadership in technology by offering cutting-edge facilities that challenge the status quo. We aim to help customers reach their sustainability goals with a variety of solutions including machines that run on alternate fuels or technology that increases fuel efficiency, help customers build a more sustainable world and a commitment and contribution to a reduced-carbon future.”

Caterpillar’s long-standing dealers, Gainwell Commosales India Pvt Ltd and Gmmco Ltd have all the technical information, training, access to the latest updates to provide reliable services to customers. Caterpillar works with these dealers to establish the best-in-class product solutions for the ever-changing needs of the customers. They make the right products available to customers at the right time.

GMMCO and Gainwell offer a range of rental fleets for customers across India for specific requirements. Under this, the company owns, operates, and maintains the rented machines.

To cater to the diverse application needs of customers, Caterpillar has segmented its product offerings, for instance, in the excavator/quarry segment it has created a utility and mid-segment within which it provides 320 D3, 320 D3 GC and 320 GC excavators. The 20-ton class of excavators offers superior value in terms of fuel efficiency and productivity. “We are offering our wheel loaders with the right value proposition across the 3-to-12-ton class. We have modified our best-selling 3-ton Hindustan wheel loaders by making the cab air conditioned, while retaining the basic platform of the loader” informed Mani Rajan.

Caterpillar India will continue in its resolve to offer total cost of ownership to its customers by reducing the operating costs of their equipment across their lifecycle.
