What demand do you envisage in the market for excavators and how will it impact the industry?
The rapidly expanding infrastructure and building industry in India is benefiting the market for construction equipment. The government is placing a greater emphasis on infrastructure development and closely monitoring projects at the highest levels to remove obstacles and expedite execution where necessary, especially with the National Infrastructure Pipeline and the Gati Shakti Master Plan. Ambitious government initiatives like Smart City, Golden Corridor, Housing for All, railway reorganisation and extension, construction of 50 new airports, are also boosting the development of the Indian construction equipment industry. The overall environment for infrastructure development in the country is favourable for increased road construction and mining activities, which we believe will ultimately drive the excavators market.

We at CASE have been actively monitoring these developments and offering products with advanced capabilities to cater to the increasing demand. CASE offers a range of smart machines that are fuel efficient and prioritize comfort and operator safety.

The 6-cylinder fuel-efficient electronically controlled FPT engine develops a gross power of 117 KW (157 hp) and peak torque of 622 Nm at 1800rpm.

What are the excavators different working modes?
The excavators come with three working modes, 5 automatic energy saving features as well as 10 auxiliary hydraulic settings. The 3 working modes provide support for various applications: high versatility auto for normal digging, grading, lifting and precision work; heavy mode for heavy operations to create balance between productivity and fuel economy; and extra speed and power for the most demanding jobs that require maximum productivity.

Operators can accommodate up to 10 auxiliary hydraulic flow and pressure settings to easily switch among different attachments with no need of any mechanical adjustment.

How has the CX220C LC excavator been made structurally stronger and more robust?
The CX220C LC comes with 33% stronger heavy-duty arm, boom and undercarriage structures that improve the machine’s durability in harsh mining terrains. It offers an arm length of 1.9 m, 2.4 m and 2.9 m & 5.7 m boom length to cater to different customers needs. Its 152kN Bucket and 132kN arm digging force ensures excellent productivity. Its 6.59 m dumping height ensures safe loading in a high body dumper.

The excavator has a maximum travel speed of 5.6 km/hr and a swing speed of 11.5 rpm. The range of bucket sizes available are 0.94, 1.0, 1.1 cu.m as per material density, application, and customer requirements.

What advancements have been made in the two excavators?
The CX220C and CX220C LC are furnished with CASE Intelligent Hydraulic System (CIHS) that provides exceptional machine control while conserving energy and fuel in all cycle time phases. The advanced hydraulic system offers higher breakout forces, improved swing speeds and greater swing torque, resulting in faster cycle times and 8% increases in productivity. Power boost function is automatically engaged as per the application requirement. The electronic management of speed and power lowers fuel consumption and offers considerable productivity benefits in terms of outputs.
