Chinese heavy goods logistics company Sinotrans Heavy-Lift Logistics Co., a subsidiary of the largest Chinese logistics company Sinotrans, has moved a 7,500-ton hotel in the city of Sanya in the Hainan province using SCHEUERLE SPMTs. According to Sinotrans, this is the world's heaviest building transport to date. Sinotrans was commissioned to re-position the 7,500-ton hotel by 500 meters due to environmental regulations.

The assignment not only required a large number of axle lines for the high unit weight, but also electronically coupled and controlled modules due to the unequal load distribution. The specialist transport company distributed the load of the hotel on 254 axle lines; and a total of 15 Power Pack Units (PPU) drove the vehicle combination.

In addition to the enormous weight to be transported, the special challenge of the transport was the uneven distribution of the load due to the asymmetrical architecture of the 90 meter long, 35 meter wide and 20 meter high building. Nevertheless, Sinotrans had to level and position the structure with the utmost precision. Furthermore, the experts from Sinotrans had to turn the building clockwise by 63 degrees and subsequently counter-clockwise by 63 degrees during transportation in order to reach the new location.

Sinotrans has been relying on SPMTs from TII SCHEUERLE for many years now, mainly because of the excellent synchronization procedure. To master the task, Sinotrans coupled the self-propelled SPMT platform transporters from TII SCHEUERLE at different angles to each other to form a fan-shaped combination. According to Sinotrans, the high load capacity and the good synchronization of the individual modules very much favored the use of SPMT axle lines from TII SCHEUERLE. Without this, it would not have achieved the required high level of precision. It took Sinotrans eight hours to lift the building and transport it precisely and safely over the 500-meter-long route with the help of SPMT axle lines and set it up again at its destination.

Sinotrans is a long-standing customer of TII SCHEUERLE, the industry expert from the TII Group for heavy and special goods transport on and off road. It maintains a fleet with 60 of its own SCHEUERLE SPMT axle lines for such transport assignments. Additional modules came from the joint venture Sinotrans Sarens Logistics Co. and other cooperation partners.

According to independent surveys, the industry experts of the TII Group are world market leaders in this segment with tens of thousands of axle lines on the market. This makes it very easy for companies worldwide to rent SPMT modules. In addition, SCHEUERLE SPMT modules are compatible with each other across all technical generations so that older vehicles can easily be coupled mechanically or electronically with modules from more recent technical generations.

The TII Group is also represented in China which means that professional advice for customers before and during transport, service on vehicles from the TII companies and fast delivery of spare parts is always guaranteed.
