Flexible Automation product range comprises of the following mobile robots that help move material from one place to another:
  • Dynamo: Autonomous Mobile Robot is powered by Lidar and operates on natural navigation. It can carry payloads of 100kg, 200 Kg, 500Kg, 1 T, 1.5 T and 2.5T
  • Zippy: Sorting Robot that navigates with the help of floor-based markets to perform sorting operations on special platforms or floor, and can carry payload of 6,10,25,40 kg
  • Veloce: Multi-Carton Picking Robot can perform storage and retrieval of cartons and crates
  • FlowT: Autonomous Forklift runs on natural navigation and performs operations through computer vision
  • Syncro: Collaborative Robot designed to work alongside humans in shared spaces to perform industrial operations.
Our Picking Solutions include:
  • Pick-To-Light: This is an order picking technology that guides operators to perform the picking.
  • Pick-By-Voice: Order picking technology helps an operator perform picking operations with the help of voice commands.

Case study

Hindustan Unilever, the Indian subsidiary of Unilever, wanted to leverage automation to reimagine their distribution model and maintain their competitive advantage in the new digital ecosystem of B2B grocery delivery. The B2B e-commerce platforms offered one-day delivery for orders placed on their portal, while it took up to three days for Unilever to fulfill the same orders. This resulted in kirana stores shifting to B2B platforms. The company aimed to deliver orders placed by the kiranas within 24 hours in order to outpace their B2B rivals. They also aimed to deliver orders as per the required quantity and not in bulk. This would not only require maintaining adequate inventory but would also need automation to efficiently handle the inventory and drive more reliable fulfillment with reduced lead times.

One of the key challenges was handling the wide range of skus with varying storage and handling requirements and short shelf lives. The Distribution Centre (DC) had to serve approximately 4,000 to 5,500 customer orders daily, consisting of 18,000 to 25,000 cases comprising 800,000 eaches (individual orders). The system had to handle up to 1.1 million eaches during peak demand days.

Addverb implemented an automation solution utilizing technologies such as Carton Shuttle, Pick-to-Light, Box-It, and Warehouse Control System. Six months of data analysis helped categorize the skus into A, B, and C classes, with a different storage mechanism proposed for each class to optimize storage and dispatch efficiency. This enabled them to fulfill orders for 28,000 kirana stores within 24 hours without a minimum order size requirement, improving their service levels.

The solution enabled pickers to achieve a rate of 9,500 picks per hour, ten times more productive than conventional paper-based picking. Fast picking and packing, dynamic load balancing, order scheduling, and finished goods scheduling reduced overall turnaround time for order fulfillment. The complete solution helped them save major costs, eliminate dependency on distribution centers, and reduce dependency on labor.
