Aardour Worldwide Logistics Adopts Agile Approach to Monitor Delays
Disruptions Leading to Rising Logistics Expenses
The disruptions in the Red Sea route are driving up logistics expenses for Indian exporters. This has prompted some exporters to shift small-volume cargoes from sea to air transport, resulting in space limitations and escalated air freight rates. Exporters are actively engaging in negotiations with their buyers to mitigate these rising costs. However, the burden of increased expenses ultimately falls on the exporters, leading them to handle reduced volumes. Consequently, buyers are exploring alternative options to navigate the situation.
Enhanced Security Measures
Implementing enhanced security measures involves deploying onboard security personnel, utilizing secure communication systems, and adhering to best practices to mitigate piracy and security threats for vessels navigating the region. Additionally, collaboration and information sharing among industry partners, maritime authorities, and security agencies facilitate a coordinated response to security risks by exchanging intelligence and coordinating responses. Furthermore, investing in technology such as satellite tracking systems, surveillance drones, and security analytics enhances situational awareness and response capabilities in the event of security incidents, bolstering overall security efforts in the region.
Extended Transit Times and New Routes
We are actively pursuing alternative sourcing strategies and diversifying our sea routes. For instance, our transit time to Istanbul, which previously ranged from 18-21 days departing from Mundra, has now extended to 30-40 days as we opted for the Bandrabas route, which itself takes approximately 20-24 days. This results in a total transit time of 30-40 days to reach Istanbul. Additionally, we are adopting an agile approach across all routes, closely monitoring delays and estimated times of arrival (ETAs) to efficiently manage inventory. Keeping ourselves and our clients well-informed is also a priority amidst these changes.
