Francesco Pireddu, CEO of Consultecna, explains the decision made in favour of automation although the traditional company is in many places still working with manufactured details and why the two do not contradict each other: “For us, automation means trying to automate some processes, thus being able to better focus energies on the more detailed aspects and with that also not losing the manufacturing aspect of the factory.”
Advanced production for leading precast producer in Sardinia
Providing the complete range starting with elements for foundation, to structure solution up until the façade and different finishes for it, Consultecna is now advancing the production with the automation of the production of pillars with brackets of 28.5 meters in length, 100 cm height and 100 cm width.
The automatically made pillars with brackets are 28.5 meters long.
The family run company was founded in 1994 by the Pireddu family and is, with 40 employees, one of the most important companies in the Sardinian world of prefabrication. The state-of-the-art plant spread across 55.000 sqm produces elements for roughly 40 structures per year – commercial and industrial buildings. Consultecna is the reference supplier of the most important national and foreign commercial chains and due to the barycentric position – the whole regional territory of the beautiful island Sardinia.
Francesco Pireddu is hoping to order another mould from Tecnocom soon. “The excellent technical solution proposed to us for the positioning of the shelves on the formwork has benefitted our production in a great way and has been provided efficiently by the innovative company from Udine.”
