ZF Group to Establish New Unit for Construction Equipment Business in Coimbatore

ZF Group, a global leader in automotive parts manufacturing, will launch a new facility at its Coimbatore campus in Tamil Nadu to produce components and enhance its portfolio in the construction equipment sector. Akash Passey, President of ZF Group India, during the Bharat Mobility Expo, said, “Alongside our automotive operations, we are scaling up our presence in the construction equipment market in India. By June this year, we plan to inaugurate a new facility in Coimbatore, reinforcing our commitment to growth in this sector. The construction equipment industry is the only sector in India anticipated to double in size over the next five years.”
Further details regarding the investment and expansion strategy will be revealed in due course. This initiative goes beyond being a parts manufacturing unit; we are also diversifying our product portfolio," Passey added. In addition, the company is expanding its wind gearbox production capabilities at the Coimbatore campus, increasing capacity from 9 GW to 12 GW with an investment of €50 million. This project is expected to complete by the end of this year.
