World's Largest 3D Printed School Construction Project Begins in Qatar

UCC Holding, in collaboration with Qatar's Public Works Authority (Ashghal), has started printing the world’s largest 3D construction project — the 3D Printed Schools Project. The development includes 14 public schools, with two built using advanced 3D printing, covering 40,000 square meters—40 times larger than any 3D-printed building globally. Denmark-based COBOD supplied two massive BODXL printers to execute the project.

After months of preparation, training, and full-scale test prints, construction is officially underway. 3D printing reduces material waste, lowers carbon emissions, accelerates timelines, and allows complex architectural designs inspired by Qatar's desert landscape. The schools are scheduled for completion by end-2025, showcasing Qatar’s leadership in sustainable and innovative construction.
