Wiesbauer Kranservice GmbH has strengthened its fleet by ordering a second Tadano AC 7.450-1, following strong operational performance of the model since its initial delivery in 2021.

The company had received the world’s first AC 7.450-1 and, based on its experience, has expanded its investment in the crane, which is regarded as one of the best in its class for heavy lifting applications.

The new crane was handed over at Tadano’s Zweibrücken facility to Managing Directors Sissy and Florian Wiesbauer, along with the company’s operations team.

The event also marked a transition within Tadano, with Sales Manager Stefan Oerter overseeing the handover, while former Sales Manager Michael Zieger attended the ceremony, having originally initiated the sale.

Compact like a 6-axle – powerful like an 8-axle

There are plenty of reasons why Florian Wiesbauer considers the AC 7.450-1 the best crane in its class. “The AC 7.450-1 is definitely a significantly more powerful alternative to all 6-axle cranes currently available on the market,” he explains. With an undercarriage length of just 15.99 meters, it fits despite its additional axle within the same dimensional class, including an outrigger base of 8.49 meters and a total length of 17.62 meters.

Other highlights include its powerful 80-meter main boom, the patented luffing jib rigging system for particularly fast, simple, and safe setup, and its SSL system, where the Superlift arms are mounted at the very front of the boom head. This allows them to be significantly longer and results in higher lifting capacities. In terms of lifting performance, the AC 7.450-1 clearly outperforms other 7-axle cranes — and in many boom configurations, it even surpasses some 8-axle models.

In addition to the innovative IC-1 Plus crane control system, Wiesbauer’s new AC 7.450-1 is also equipped with the unique Surround View camera system. This system helps the crane operator optimally position the crane on site: it uses six cameras to create a computer-assisted display showing the maximum possible outrigger extension at the crane’s current position. “Especially since we often work on confined construction sites, this system is extremely helpful: it supports us in positioning the crane quickly and safely in the optimal way,” adds Florian Wiesbauer. It also helps improve safety on the road by making pedestrians and cyclists more visible when turning.

Long-standing partnership

In addition to the technical advantages of Tadano cranes, Wiesbauer also values the strong and trusting partnership with Tadano: “Our two companies have maintained a very close business relationship for many years. We know that we can rely 100 percent on Tadano service at any time. Not least because of this, Tadano cranes have long held a permanent place in our fleet,” emphasizes Sissy Wiesbauer.
