Bajrang Setu Glass Bridge in Rishikesh Faces Minor Damage Ahead of Opening

The under-construction Bajrang Setu Glass Bridge in Rishikesh has reported minor damage ahead of its official opening, with the glass surface at one end affected.

Located near Lakshman Jhula, the pedestrian bridge features advanced engineering with walkways made of five layers of toughened glass, each 12 mm thick, forming a total thickness of around 60 mm.

Officials stated that only the top layer of the glass was damaged, while the remaining four layers remain intact, ensuring structural safety.

To safeguard the project, authorities are installing CCTV cameras and enhancing lighting along the bridge to prevent further damage before its commissioning.
