Telangana Road Projects
The state government in Telangana has recently decided to build a 132-km long regional ring road named after Kakatiya for the Warangal city in the draft Master Plan of the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) on the northern fringes of the state. An international sports complex at Yelkurty village in Dharmsagar mandal, and recreation zone between the Devunur hillocks and Dharmasagar reservoir also proposed in the plan, said an official spokesperson, claiming that the regional ring road (RRR) will pass through five assembly constituencies – Station Ghanpur, Wardhannapet, Parkal, Huzurabad and Husnabad – around the proposed outer road (ORR). Industrial zone, IT parks, satellite townships and educational institutions would come up between the ORR and RRR. The land had also been acquired for setting up the educational institutes -Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Sainik schools and Hyderabad Public School – near the proposed international sports complex along the national highway at Yelkurty. There is also a plan to set up a theme park between Devunur and Mupparam villages following the directions of the state Chief Minister, who also stressed on building Devunur hillocks as the centre of the eco-tourism activities.
