Uttarakhand launches ₹750 cr riverfront project

The state government in Uttarakhand through its nodal agency, Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA), has recently inked a deal with the NBCC India for developing the riverfront real estate project in Dehradun. In this connection, MDDA had asked for expressions of interest three times but only NBCC showed interest in the project after which the MDDA zeroed on the company available. The deal has been signed just before the Uttarakhand Investors Summit scheduled to start shortly, public relations officer of MDDA, Sanjeevan Soontha, said, adding that under the project, NBCC will undertake the work to channelize public facilities, road construction, construction of houses for poor, parking facility and beautification of the river front area spread over 1.2 km near Rispana and its vicinity and 2.5 km near Bindal river at a cost of ₹750 crore.
