UPEIDA speeds up 354-km long Purvanchal Expressway
The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), which is executing the Purvanchal Expressway project, has claimed that the construction work on the 354 km, the longest in the country, is currently in full swing. The expressway starts from Chand Sarai in Lucknow and ends at Haidaria in Ghazipur district. The foundation stone for the project was laid by the PM last year. The Expressway will also be linked with Varanasi through a separate link road. The project, once completed, will provide seamless connectivity to 9 districts of UP including Lucknow, Amethi, Azamagarh, Ghazipur, Faizabad, Mau, Ambedkarnagar, Barabanki and Sultanpur and will also link them to the national capital via the 165 km long Agra-Greater Noida Yamuna Expressway and the 302-km long Agra-Lucknow Expressway. It will be expandable to eight lanes and once it gets connected with the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, it will become a vast industrial corridor in the state.
