Uttar Pradesh Government has planned to build a road along the Indo-Nepal border, starting from Maharajganj district in UP to Uttarakhand's border areas. The state's CM has laid the foundation stones for various projects worth ₹280 crore in the Maharajganj district and also launched projects worth ₹333 crore in the neighbouring Bahraich district of the state. The construction work on the proposed road will be started from the Maharajganj district and the road will touch Pilibhit and then directly connect Uttarakhand's border areas. The UP Government is also building a medical college in the Bahraich district.
