UP speeds up Kashi Dham road corridor

Road Project
The NHAI has initiated construction on the ambitious Kashi Vishwanath Dham (corridor) project, for which the foundation stone was laid by the PM last month. The DPR has been sent to the state government for approval, following which, the tenders will be floated. As of now, the administration is trying to complete the purchase of all identified 296 buildings and has, till date, purchased 273 buildings. Agencies like Rajkiya Nirman Nigam are also conducting soil test at the project site, and removal of the purchased buildings is also in progress. The state government had approved the project in December 2017 and sanctioned ₹600 crore for initiating the ground work. Shortly after that the temple administration had also forwarded a tentative budget of ₹391 crore for further work through the department of religious affairs. The temple complex is being developed in an area of 39,310-sqm and it will be linked with the Ganga through a road corridor.
