The state government in Uttar Pradesh has recently decided to build 50,000 affordable housing units to be allotted to homeless in the next three months. In this connection, the state chief minister asked developers to make sure to deliver these units within the stipulated time lines in areas like Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway. The CM also ordered formation of a committee of experts to find a solution to all impeding real estate issues in the region, including sick projects or defaulting developers within the deadline of next three months. Representatives of real estate developers such as Unitech, Jaypee Infratech, Amrapali, Supertech and members of builders’ body Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India (CREDAI) were also present in the meeting. The vice president, CREDAI, western UP, Amit Modi, informed that the chief minister has ordered the authorities to facilitate issuance of around 45 completion certificates which are pending with them due to issues such as plan sanctions, interest payment related issues in the next three months.
