UP injects ₹1,000-cr in Purvanchal expressway

The UP cabinet has approved ₹1,000 crore for the local expressways development authority to speed up construction of the Purvanchal Expressway connecting Ghazipur to Lucknow. The prestigious 354 km six-lane carriageway being built by Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority, will reduce travel time from Ghazipur in eastern UP to Lucknow to 4.30 hours. Among other developmental projects, the state cabinet has also cleared multiple civil works for the Allahabad High Court campus such as roads, a VIP suite and a conference hall at a cost of about Rs 440 crore, said an official spokesperson.
