UP clears seven 400-km two-lane road projects
In a bid to improve road network across the state the state government in UP has approved seven two-lane road projects covering a total distance of around 400 km. Prominent among the roads which got cabinet clearance are Mohanlalganj-Moraon-Unnao, Badaun-Bilsi-Bijnore, Bulandshahr-Anupshahr, Muzaffarnagar-Badaut and Gola-Shahjahanpur two lane road. Apart from this, they also included Kaptanganj-Narain Nagar and Gauri Bazar-Rudrapur road stretches and all these projects are slated to be commissioned in the next two years, state power minister Srikanth Sharma said. The road projects will be financed by the World Bank and Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the projects will be carried out in a phased manner, besides this government has also approved additional grant for construction of bridge at Sitapur-Bahraich highway over Chahlari ghat. In a related development, the government also approved Bhaweanipur dam project, which will come up in Lalitpur, he added.
