Two New Rapid Rail Corridors from Sarai Kale Khan to Karnal and Neemrana Likely Soon: Manohar Lal Khattar

Rapid-Rail
Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the proposal for two new rapid rail corridors originating from Sarai Kale Khan is expected to receive approval soon, expanding the high-speed transit network in the National Capital Region. He made the announcement while addressing the inauguration of the Sarai Kale Khan station on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Rapid Rail Transit System.

According to the minister, one proposed corridor will connect Sarai Kale Khan to Karnal in Haryana, covering about 125 to 130 km and reducing travel time to nearly one and a half hours. The second corridor is planned to link Sarai Kale Khan with Babarpur in Haryana and Neemrana in Rajasthan, further strengthening inter-state connectivity.

The Sarai Kale Khan station, inaugurated virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Meerut, will function as a major interchange for the Delhi-Meerut RRTS and future rapid rail routes. Khattar said the expansion of rapid rail and metro networks is crucial as Delhi evolves into a major economic hub, increasing pressure on roads and public transport systems.
