Two highway stretches in Telangana gets NH status

Two highway stretches Telangana gets NH status
The Union road transport and highways ministry has upgraded two separate stretches on the Guntur-Hyderabad state highway as National Highway. Both the stretches have been provided ₹1,000 crore to convert their existing two-lane stretches into four-lane highways. The Union transport minister has directed the highway authority's official of the region to initiate the highway widening process on a fast-track basis.

MP Lavu Srikrishnadevarayalu said, “This is a big achievement for the Palnadu region. The development of Guntur-Hyderabad highway and Dachepalle-Macherla highway, which has been pending for several decades, will now take off after its conversion as National Highway.” The up-gradation of Perecherla-Kondamodu and Dachepalle-Macherla stretches as NH would help boost the goods transport sector and will smoothen the vehicular traffic movement from industries in Prakasam and Nellore districts. This would also be an encouraging factor for the investors to set up more industries in Palnadu.
